Raw, unaltered food for dogs and humans

ImageOne of the participants in my last healthy eating class said, “My dog was doing so great on raw food for over 10 years, I had to ask myself why I’m not eating raw!”

Groups like this are getting together every Wednesday and Saturday to learn new ways to nourish themselves with the vitality of raw, live foods. One of my objectives as the facilitator is to inspire people to get off toxic bottled salad dressings. The ingredients in bottled salad dressings include preservatives and additives to make them shelf stable and addictive substances to keep you wanting more. That’s great for the company’s bottom line but not for our health.

One of my heroes is Dr. Joel Fuhrman who encourages people to make their own salad dressings out of whole foods. All you need is a liquid of some kind (juice or alternative milk), something fatty like whole nuts or seeds, a vinegar like fig balsamic, orange, apple cider or the many other options and top it off with your favorite spices.

Humans thrive on whole, plant-based foods in their natural state. Just as animals thrive on raw food that their particular bodies were designed to digest, so do we.
