I first met Ralph of Precious Life Sanctuary while standing in line for the showing of Peaceable Kingdom at the Egyptian Theater. Precious Life Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and providing a safe home for abused, neglected and abandoned farm and companion animals.
While this retired animal lover was handing out information on how to reduce suffering on the planet, a woman screamed at him questioning why he didn’t care about humans. Quite an assumption. When I visited their farm, I noticed that they were also providing shelter for a homeless man. If we want to live in harmony, it’s time for all of us to learn to ask more questions and listen to other people’s viewpoints. Fear makes us want to hold on to what we know. It also keeps us stuck. The RC (Resistance to Change) factor is directly related to how much fear a person is feeling. Take this into consideration when you come into contact with someone who is resisting your ideas and see how much more progress you make with them.
Precious Life Animal Sanctuary is having an open house on July 17h from 10 am – 4 pm. For a mini-retreat and to re-connect with your own spirit in a peaceful way, I recommend it. Details are at www.preciouslifeanimalsanctuary.org. Combine it with the Sequim Lavender Festival that’s happening on July 16, 17 & 18. www.lavenderfestival.com
