When you’ve tried everything you know and people still don’t listen, try speaking from a place deep in your heart.
Today in my writing group, the prompt stirred a childhood memory that led me to writing from my innocent 8 year old perspective. It choked me up, but I kept reading aloud until the end.
The room went silent.
People were moved to tears and ready to make a change.
After years of encouraging people to eat differently with facts, statistics and case studies, NOTHING had the kind of impact that my two page, heart-centered reading had.
It takes courage to be vulnerable, but the rewards are self-respect, empowerment and truly making a positive difference in the world.
Join us October 24th at Bellevue College for the Speaking with Your Authentic Voice class. It’s my favorite class to teach as I witness stress melt away, smiles emerge and strangers fall in love with each other.
This class will change your life. (I know you may have heard that before, but I promise… It will!)
Call me (425.223.0123) if you’d like to get a better idea of the class or check out my free e-course that will help you learn to think on your feet.
If you feel a little nudge encouraging you to sign up, pay attention. Step into a higher version of yourself, gain respect and make the positive difference you long for.
