Yikes, did I say 10 days?
Today is day number 1 of the Purium 10 Day Transformation Cleanse. Sometimes I ask myself if this really important. It takes so much willpower and I’m already feeling a bit edgy thinking about my friends coming later. They’re bringing over leftover peach cobbler. (That’s right… not part of my program)
Psychologists say we are motivated by fear or desire.
I’ll tell you how fear is motivating me today. Someone very close to me was just diagnosed with cancer. Who knows how or why certain people get this news. To hear the ever-rising statistics of 1 in 3 people inspires me to keep my body as alkaline as possible. Dr. Brian Clement encourages a low-calorie, high nutrient, alkaline diet. That’s exactly what the Purium 10 day cleanse is. When I feel fear, I gather information and take action.
I’m also motivated by desire. Recently I hooked up with my high school sweetie from 40 years ago. We live many miles away and don’t see each other as often as I’d like. When we do see each other, I want to look and feel as awesome as possible. I also do improv and some scenes may require I roll around on the floor. It’s fun to know whatever I’m feeling in the moment isn’t going to be restricted by extra pounds or sore joints. Another motivating factor for me is finding an astronomer who guides people up to the top of Hurricane Ridge. It’s an amazing experience to hike to the top of one of the tallest peaks here to see the super full moon. I’m 56 and want to be able to continue to do that as long as possible.
This is the third time I’m venturing into a 10 day cleanse. Four times a year feels right for me… on the equinoxes and the solstices. Have you ever done a cleanse or a fast? How often do you do it and what inspires you?
Here’s a video I made on day #1 of my first cleanse. I know a little more getting into it this time, but every cleanse is different. I’ll keep you posted and if you’d like to see exactly what this cleanse involves I explain it in this video.
